Honorable Foreign Minister Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi
Tokyo 105-8519 Japan

Dear Minister,

We are Falun Gong Practitioners from Guadeloupe, a French Overseas Department.

We would like to express our concern regarding Mrs Yoko Kaneko’s desperate situation; she is currently imprisoned and being cruelly persecuted in China. Mrs Yoko Kaneko was in China to appeal against human rights violations being carried out against Falun Gong practitioners.

Falun Gong is an ancient practice for mind and body introduced in China by Mr Li Hongzhi in 1992. Since its introduction to the public, it has quickly spread to over 60 countries around the world. Over 100 million people, from all walks of life and different cultural backgrounds, practise Falun Gong with a common wish to become better and healthier people.

Falun Gong has received hundreds of official recognitions and support from several countries, including Japan.

Frightened by the growing popularity of this practice, President Jiang Zemin launched a vast campaign to eliminate Falun Gong. He set up all kinds of Machiavellian machinations in order to discredit Falun Gong in the eyes of the Chinese people and all other countries, and to justify his abominable persecution.

Many governments and international organisations have expressly demanded that the Chinese President put an end to this persecution towards the practitioners of Falun Gong.

We kindly and whole heartedly appeal to you to urgently request China to release Mrs Kaneko and allow her to return to her husband and home.

We thank you for your attention towards this serious situation, and we sincerely wish you a pleasant trip to China.

Yours respectfully,

Practitioners of Guadeloupe
