On March 17th, at 2 p.m., Falun Dafa practitioners from Yamanashi County, Japan, held a press conference at the Journalist Club of the County Government regarding their appeal to the County Council the day before, to rescue Yoko Kaneko.

Practitioners first informed the press about how Yoko was arrested and then updated them on her current situation. They then showed the Certificate of Recognition that was issued by the Chinese government to Falun Dafa founder Mr. Li Hongzhi for his contribution, before the persecution started, as well as reports citing the remarkable health benefits from practising Falun Dafa. Practitioners stressed that Falun Dafa is persecuted due to insecurity on the part of the dictator, Jiang, and that all propaganda slandering Falun Gong are fabrications and lies designed to justify the persecution. In addition, they also showed that Falun Dafa is well received in many countries around the world. They stressed that we should help the Chinese people, who have been lied to, to realise that Yoko Kaneko is innocent, and that it was illegal to send her to a forced labour camp.

Mr. Lin Shelli, a practitioner from Canada who was held in a Chinese labour camp for two years because he appealed for Falun Dafa, described how he suffered due to the brutal persecution taking place there. He appealed to both the Japanese government and the public, asking them to help return Yoko Kaneko safely to Japan.

Eight media outlets participated at the press conference. A local newspaper reported on the event on March 18th.
