Romania: Constanţa Tourists Learn About Ancient Meditation in China

As one of the oldest cities in Romania, Constanța has the largest port on the Black Sea and is filled with tourists in the summer. Practitioners of Falun Dafa came to Constanța on July 29 and 30 to tell people about the ancient meditation practice.

At a park near Tomis Harbour, practitioners put up posters about the benefits of Falun Dafa and how it is persecuted by the communist regime in China. In a booth, some practitioners talked with passersby and answered their questions while others demonstrated the Dafa exercises.

Persecution in China ‘Absurd’
Many tourists and local residents read the practitioners’ brochures. Mr. Ungur, a restaurant owner, said that the communist officials in China who persecute Falun Dafa are “ruthless...They have no right to do this, because everyone has the freedom of belief.”

One man in his 40s said that no one is allowed to kill others and that “what the Chinese Communist Party does is a crime.”

A tourist from Tulcea and her niece agreed. They signed petitions asking the Romanian government and the United Nations to help stop the persecution in China.

Another woman who signed the petition had tears in her eyes and said, “This is absurd,” referring to the persecution. She said the Chinese Communist Party has harmed too many people and that “it is infectious if we do not take actions. We must stop the tragedy in China.”

‘We should let more people know’
A college student who studies sociology in neighboring country of Moldova said it was hard to imagine that the Chinese regime’s killing of Dafa practitioners for their organs could happen in contemporary society. “I think we should let more people know about this through the internet so that they can all say no to this atrocity.”

Electrician Valentin Vasile came to the park with his friends. “Organ harvesting can happen in a totalitarian regime,” he said. “I know some people may consider it trivial to sign a petition. But I do not agree with them, because every voice counts.”

Many people were interested in learning the Dafa exercises, including a girl who asked her parents if she could learn as well. When they nodded, she joined several other children to learn the movements.
