Filmmaker Robin passed by Knightbridge in Central London around 2 pm on October 22, 2015 and saw Falun Gong practitioners holding banners and talking with passers-by. He also noticed another group of Chinese people holding red Chinese flags beside them.

The location was near the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in Knightsbridge where Chinese President Xi Jinping was staying. Falun Gong practitioners took the opportunity to protest the persecution in China by holding banners, distributing flyers, collecting signatures and explaining the facts of the persecution to passers-by. Large banners reading “Stop the persecution of Falun Gong” and “Bring Jiang Zemin to justice” were very prominently displayed.

Robin paused and accepted a flyer from a practitioner. He read it and watched the two groups of people for a while.

Knightsbridge is well known for its expensive residential areas and retail shops, as well as many foreign embassies. The appearance of practitioners and their banners was rare. Many people learned about Falun Gong from them.

Robin asked a practitioner if there would be more events the next day, thinking of returning to film the two groups of people. He found the two in stark contrast to one another.

A practitioner named Wang was distributing flyers and noticed a Chinese student coming. He gave the student a flyer and talked with him. The student said he came to join the 3-day welcome event and saw Falun Gong practitioners nearby. He noticed that Falun Gong practitioners were quiet. He thought that the practitioners had a right to express their views. He regretted that some people in the “welcome group” had a misunderstanding of Falun Gong and spoke abusively about it.

Mr. Wang talked to him about Falun Gong and the persecution and answered his questions. He advised the student to quit the Party and its affiliates. The student agreed to renounce his membership in the CCP Youth League and Young Pioneers.

A mother and her daughter from Sweden passed by and accepted a flyer from a practitioner. They paused and listened to practitioner Mei introduce Falun Gong and the meaning of the protest. The mother came to visit her daughter in London and heard of Falun Gong for the first time. They signed the petition against live organ harvesting without hesitation.

Raf was an airplane engineer before retirement and has lived in the UK for 50 years. He said he heard of Falun Gong before, but not about the organ harvesting atrocities. He signed the petition against organ harvesting, calling it horrible and inhumane. He said he hoped that the petition forms would be sent to United Nations in addition to Prime Minister Cameron.
