Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cui Hongjun was admitted to Fenjin Forced Labour Camp on August 29th, 2011.

Guards shocked him with electric batons, made him sit on a small stool, tied him up on a small stool, stabbed bamboo under his fingernails, and beat him. Mr. Cui was tortured until he almost passed out.

Since returning home, he often wakes with nightmares in the middle of night. He still has vivid images of being tortured, has splitting headaches, and can no longer can speak clearly.

He began to practise Falun Gong in 1996 and lived by the principles Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. After the persecution of Falun Gong started in on July 20th, 1999, he was persecuted, harassed, incarcerated, and taken to forced labour camps.

Home Broken into, Taken to a Forced Labour Camp

Chen Baoshan, the captain of the Heping Team of Yangzishao Town in Huinan County, went to Mr. Cui's home on July 7th, 2011, and told him that he had to attend a “Study Session” (a brainwashing session) for five days in Tonghua. Chen also demanded that he pay 100 yuan1 daily. He refused.

Next, Li Quan from Shenjiabao went to his home and informed him that he had to attend the class.

After Li Quan left, Chen Baoshan; Yang Huanqin, former head of the Jinchuan Town Police Station; the political instructor; and others went to where Mr. Cui worked. They handcuffed him, took him to the police station, and locked him in an isolation cell.

Yang Huanqin; Mi Changshen, the security guard; a person with the surname of Ma; and several others took Mr. Cui to his home. Yang broke in, and they confiscated a DVD player, 100 yuan, a mobile phone and other personal property. A year and a half later, they returned one damaged mobile phone, but none of the other items.

Everything was videotaped, even Yang breaking in. One of them asked, “Is it OK to smash the lock?” Yang said, “No problem. We have this videotaped!”

After being detained in Beishan Forced Labour Camp for about 20 days, Mr. Cui was transferred to Chaoyang Forced Labour Camp and held there for a year and a half. He was transferred to Fenjin Forced Labour Camp on August 19th, 2011.

Beaten and Shocked

Jiang Yan, captain of the No. 2 Division at Fenjin Forced Labour Camp, took Mr. Cui to the torture cell in mid-December 2012. He ordered him to write the guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong.

When Mr. Cui refused, he was made to squat. He shouted “Falun Gong is good!” The guards put a wooden stick over his mouth and wrapped tape around his neck and mouth. They also shocked him with an electric baton almost all night long, causing excruciating pain. The resulting scars are visible today.

Guard Shen Quanhong put him on a small stool the next day. The stool was about 40 centimeters long, 5 to 6 centimeters wide, and 30 centimeters height. Under pressure, Mr. Cui wrote the guarantee statement but voided it the following morning with a solemn declaration.

Jiang Yan, a guard from the No. 2 Brigade, then shocked him with an electric baton and criminal inmate Zhou Jianmin and others beat him. They also taped him to a small stool and pushed him back and forth.

Zhong Wenge, captain of the No. 1 Brigade, ordered Mr. Cui to squat, then ordered inmates to tie him into a ball. This went on throughout the entire night. To prevent anyone from seeing what they were doing, they covered the window with newspapers.

Others involved in torturing Mr. Cui included inmates Lin Haijun, Lu Huishen, Zhang Xiaohui, Sun Guangjun, Fei Shan, Zhou Jianmin, and others.

Tortured with a Stick

Zhang Xiaohui stabbed Mr. Cui's fingernails with a stick and pulled his fingers back and forth. He punched his thighs and hit them with the stick. Then he made him spread his arms wide and pinned his arms to the wall with the stick.

Qi, the chief of the management division, forced Mr. Cui to squat with his head almost touching his feet. Then, he was again forced to sit on a small stool, and criminals Lin Haijun and Lu Huishen beat him. Shen Quanhong forced him to take off his pants, then used a wooden ball to rub his thighs. Lin Haijun poked his eyes.

After his release, Mr. Cui had nightmares, piercing headaches, and he no longer could speak clearly.

Arrested and Tortured in 2006

When Mr. Cui Hongjun was explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people in 2006, he was arrested by Zhang Chunbao from the Yangzishao Police Station and Mi Changshen, a security guard. At the police station, Zhou Yuhang, political instructor, slapped his face, kicked him, and forced him to stand against the wall with his legs apart. He was detained in Beishan Detention Centre for 55 days.

Mr. Cui was arrested again around 6 a.m on September 5th, 2013. and taken to the Hejia Hotel of Tonghua City for brainwashing. Xue Yuliang, director of the 610 Office(an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) of Tonghua City, threatened Cui Hongjun and tortured him.
