The Women's Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province is a place where Falun Dafa practitioners are brutally tortured. Even during severely cold winter weather, the prison guards strip off the practitioners' clothes, handcuff and hang them up in front of windows to catch the winter draft. Moreover, they connect high voltage electricity from the steel window bars to the bodies of practitioners, and prolong the torture continuously for days. Some practitioners are beaten nearly to death. Then, with a prepared copy of a statement renouncing belief in Dafa, they force the practitioner's toe onto an inkpad and imprint the toe on the statement as a sign of consent from the victim.

Practitioners are allowed only tiny scraps of food. The prison officers' instructions, "Just keep them alive, and it will be ok." Any practitioner who protests the mistreatment with a hunger strike is to be forced to hold a strong salt water solution in his mouth, and the mouth is sealed with tape. This form of torture elicits severe gagging. Another torture style is to first beat the practitioner to a squatting posture, then lock him into a small steel cage and force him to sit in a basin of water. Then, they conduct an electric current from the steel cage to the water. For days he would not be let out.

Under interrogation, some Falun Dafa practitioners are beaten unconscious. When this happens the prison guards pour cold water to wake them up and then continue with the interrogation.
