Some Stories About Lili Lin

Ms Lili Lin is now detained in Manchester airport due to some mistakes in her asylum application. The Home Office sent a refusal letter to the wrong address, so she missed the deadline of her appeal. Now all UK Falun Gong practitioners are rescuing her. Because we live in different cities, I do not know her very well but the stories that I know about her are so moving that I’d like to share them with you.

When Lili first appeared among UK practitioners, she was not a practitioner.. However, after first reading Zhuan Falun, she was deeply moved and wanted to learn Falun Gong as soon as possible. She then phoned the volunteer assistant in her area and started to practice Falun Gong in October 2001. They got married six months later.

She knew, as a new student, she should spend more time on studying the Fa and catching up with others, so we always saw Lili carrying a Dafa book with her. Even in between Dafa event, she was very diligent in her study and she made progress very quickly. Although she doesn’t have a high education, through diligent study she could quickly understand many profound principles and often discussed them with others. I was very glad to see her improve so rapidly.

She also tried to take part in as many Dafa activities as possible in the UK. I remember many times, in order to report to the Liverpool Home Office, she took the overnight coach to travel between Liverpool and London. This costs a lot of money and is a 10-hour journey. After beginning cultivation, she became a new person. During the last two years, she lived a very simple life with simple food and without buying a new dress at all. She and her husband spent almost all the family’s time and money on Dafa. For example, in order to support the First World Science and Culture Conference held in Cambridge, they donated a lot of money without letting others know. Actually their financial situation is not good, once a practitioner even laughed at her husband’s broken shoes.

What most moved me is the 24-hour peaceful appeal in front of the Chinese Embassy in London. Lili tried her best to support this activity. Whenever she had time, she would go to London and sit in front of the Embassy. I think the officials in Embassy would be very familiar with her face. When Lili was there, normally she spent almost all the time on studying the Fa and practising the exercises. She had no hot food to eat and no hot water to drink, from the very hot summer to the chilly winter. Lili stayed there often. At night time, she slept in a cold tent; when it rained, she sat in the water. The conditions were very hard, but she never complained. On the contrary, she was always quiet. Everyone can distinguish from her behaviour that she was very determined and she was doing things from her heart, which cannot be faked. No matter what her initial intention was, now every practitioner regards her as a true Dafa disciple.

There is an interesting story about their marriage. Once a practitioner with the third eye open found that in a previous life, both of them were men who cultivated the Tao together. In this life time, it is this practitioner who introduced Dafa to her, and during their daily life, they often help each other in cultivation.

I undoubtedly believe that Lili will back with us very soon. How could a democratic country such as UK, which upholds human rights, deport a person with “ Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance” in their hearts?
