Your Excellency:

This telefax explains my plea as a representative of the Office to Assist Foreign Nationals in Dusseldorf to please intervene with your government for Mrs. Wenrong Lin, a new Dusseldorf resident.

Mrs. Lin, born July 1968, came to Dusseldorf in 2002 to study German. On January 17, 2003, she flew to her hometown of Wuhan to celebrate Chinese New Year with her family there on February 1, 2003. She was subsequently arrested there as a practitioner of Falun Gong and has since been in detention. Since we in Germany hear more and more incidents of torture in Chinese police detention facilities, we are imploring you to please have this incident investigated specifically and intervene on our behalf, to affect the release of Mrs. Lin.

We thank you in anticipation and are looking forward to a response.

I wish to inform you that I will send a copy of this fax to Minister Joschka Fischer.

Sincerely,

CEO of the Office to Assist Foreign Nationals
February 26, 2003
