On the evening of January 31, 2003, a meeting entitled, "Rescue Our Family Members Who Are Persecuted in China for Their Belief in Falun Gong" was held at Clark University in Massachusetts. Amnesty Internationale's Clark University Chapter sponsored this meeting. Speaking for all family members of Falun Gong practitioners who are suffering persecution in China, Dr. Haiying He called for their urgent rescue.

Daniel, who is in charge of AI Clark University Chapter, pointed out in his speech that in the United States, 37 Falun Gong practitioners' family members in China are currently suffering from inhuman persecution. In Massachusetts, four practitioners' family members are enduring persecution in China and practitioners are trying their best to rescue them. They will soon launch a large-scale public petition drive and deliver the signatures to Amnesty International Headquarters.

Daniel compared the flourishing development of Falun Gong in Taiwan with Mainland China and expressed that the Jiang government's furious persecution of Falun Gong defies reason. The two places have the same traditional culture and historical background, but unfortunately, in Taiwan, people enjoy freedom while in China, people suffer under a dictatorship.

At the meeting, Ms. Chen reminded people to pay attention to the recent incident in which US citizen, Mr. Charles Li was illegally arrested in China, simply because he practises Falun Gong.

After the meeting, Dr. Haiying He said, "In fact, people can take various kinds of actions to support justice, and their support can be useful and effective in many ways."

We are hoping those people who believe in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" will regain their freedom as soon as possible.
