Ms Li Yanlin, a Dafa practitioner from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, was arrested in April of 2001 and sentenced to three years in jail. Li Yanlin kept appealing her case because she did not acknowledge the sentence. She is currently held in a detention centre in Wuhan.
When she started a hunger strike to protest the persecution, the prison force-fed her as a means of punishment. Recently, when her family members went to the detention centre to deliver daily supplies to Li Yanlin, they noticed that the handwriting on the receipt was not hers. After her worried family demanded to see her, the detention centre agreed that Li's father could see her. Li Yanlin had been tortured so severely that she sadly suffered a mental collapse, and did not even recognise her own father. The head of the detention centre told him that this took place on December 26, 2002. Li's father pleaded for her release on bail so that she could get treatment. The detention centre replied that they needed to report the request, and get it approved. Li's father said his family has no money to pay for the cost of therapy for Li Yanlin.

We firmly request:

1. That the detention centre immediately release Li Yanlin.
2. That the perpetrator be severely punished, and that the responsibility of involved parties be investigated.
3. That the detention centre pay the cost of therapy for Li Yanlin.
4. That the detention centre pay any economic losses.

We appeal to international community, and to all human rights organisations to pay attention to this issue; we ask that you do everything in your power to investigate the savage behaviour of Jiang's regime, and to stop these crimes against human nature, against society, and against humanity.
