Poem: The Final Chapter

A vague memory and a soft longing,
For solitary cultivation amidst bamboo forests.
In actuality these are merely romantic notions:
The mountains are cold and lonely;
Cultivation is arduous and painful.
Lifetimes and lifetimes of cultivation;
Never succeeding.
Suffering of rebirth,
Deep sorrow of awareness.
Again, seeking the Tao(1).
Crossing paths with many,
Predestined relationships are complex.
Threads entwined, back and forth;
One thread, the most powerful, is formed.
One life, entering the end of the Dharma(2).
Wishes fulfilled, meeting the Teacher.
Obtaining the Great Law,
Fulfilling the vows made before time.
Restoring the reputation of Falun Gong,
The final chapter of one story;
The first chapter of the next:
Creating history, the future is written.

(1) Tao is commonly known as "The Way"
(2) The Dharma is Buddha Sakyamuni's Teachings. Here the author is referring to the period, which according to Sakyamuni begins five hundred years after he passed away. This is said to be a period in which Sakyamuni's Dharma could no longer save people.
