Article from Iceland's Morgunbladid: "Protesting the Persecution of Falun Gong"
The following was publlished in Icelandic newspaper Morgunbladid on July 22nd 2009

Falun Dafa practitioners in Iceland remembered that ten years have passed since Chinese authorities launched a persecution against millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China. The practitioners had a peaceful protest in front of the Chinese embassy in commemoration.

Falun Dafa Associations around the world have sent governments in 41 country an appeal to support "the most significant human rights issue of the 21st century”. The announcement from the Associations states that former Chinese state leader Jiang Zemin considered the large group of practitioners as a personal threat. Regardless of opposition from the Central Committee of the Communist Party, he decided to stop this large group of people.

The persecution started on July 20 and was supposed to last 3 months (Ed. note: Jiang Zemin said the Chinese Communist Party would eradicate Falun Gong in 3 months). Since then millions of practitioners have been persecuted and the persecution has been prolonged until today.
