There is a village in Wuxue City, Hubei Province. There lives an old man who has a good reputation and the villagers all call him "Old Sheikh."
One day in March of 2009, I met Old Sheikh in the village. I knew him well, so I gave him a set of the Shen Yun performance DVDs and told him that if he watched them, it would bring good fortune to him. At that time, he did not pay much attention to my words and just took the DVDs and then left.
A few days later, we met each other again. As soon as he saw me, he said with pleasure, "Yesterday I watched the Shen Yun DVDs that you gave me. The experience has been a great eye-opener for me. The combination of the content, artistry, backdrop and music makes people feel like they are in a fairyland. I felt peaceful and happy while watching it. Yesterday, I watched it three times. The performances of Mulan Joins the Battle and The Loyalty of Yue Fei impressed me very much. Regretfully, we cannot find this kind of pure and ancient style in mainland China." Old Sheikh seemed disappointed and then he said, "In the past I only knew Falun Gong practitioners were good people. After watching Shen Yun, I have a further understanding of Falun Gong. It's really a good practice. It is beneficial to people and to the country. I am also interested in learning Falun Gong."
Old Sheikh and I conversed for some time while walking to my house. I invited him into my home and as soon as he came inside, he said seriously, "Falun Dafa is so good, I am going to learn it. Do you have books or materials for me to read?" After he watched Shen Yun, he praised Dafa and started practicing Falun Gong. I was very glad to help him. I gave him Zhuan Falun, the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party", Minghui Weekly and other books and materials.
One month later, on a sunny day, I met Old Sheikh in the village again. After a brief greeting, he told me that he had read Zhuan Falun several times and could not tear himself away from the book. He reads it every day. He asked me to teach him the five sets of exercises. He also read the Nine Commentaries on Communist Party and recognizes the evil nature of the CCP (Chinese communist party).
