Czech Minister of Interior Affairs Ivan Langer
On March 19th 2008, Czech Minister of Interior Affairs Ivan Langer expressed his support for persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. In his letter, addressed to the Czech Falun Gong Association, he stated:

”Let me join everyone who shows solidarity with the persecuted members of the Falun Gong spiritual movement. I decide to do so after being introduced to the elementary principles of its teachings based on following Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance in everyday life. The spreading of these values and observing them has always been a basis of mutual respect and cooperation among states and nations; these principles were always the root of understanding and friendship among people. That is why I strongly condemn the violence committed by the Chinese government on Falun Gong practitioners. Freedom of confession is the cornerstone of a free society and China cannot be regarded as an advanced and democratic country until it is willing to assume the responsibility to uphold human rights as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.“
