United Kingdom: Leeds Activity Raises Awareness about Human Rights Abuses Against Falun Gong in China
On November 17th 2007, an activity was held in Leeds in northern England to let people know about the human rights abuses that Falun Gong practitioners are suffering at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Many passers by signed a petition to show their support for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, showed their interest in the Falun Gong exercises and asked for information on free classes.
A lady from Vietnam, who has been living in Leeds for more than twenty years, was happy to finally get the opportunity to withdraw from the Communist Party in the form of a public statement. One girl told us that a few months ago she saw Falun Gong practitioners holding a similar activity and decided to raise awareness about the persecution against Falun Gong in her own school.
