Czech Republic: Activity in Brusperku To Raise Awareness about the Abuse of Falun Gong Practitioners in China

On May 19th, 2007, practitioners of Falun Gong gathered in Brušperku to let local people know about Falun Gong, which is a cultivation practice of mind and body. They also raised awareness about the practice's persecution by the Chinese government, which has banned Falun Gong since 1999.

Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises on the square in front of banners with information about the method of Falun Gong and the violence perpetrated against Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese regime. They handed out leaflets and talked to passersby. Some practitioners dropped leaflets through letter boxes to enable more people to learn about these things and let them know the truth about the evil Communist Party.

Passing shopper stopped by to learn more from practitioners about the bloody practises of the Communist Party. Many people came to sign the petition and unambiguously denounced the cruel methods and inhumane practice of communism which has no place in any advanced society in the world.

Not only adults, but also children came to the table to sign the petition and carefully read the information on the banners and were interested in every detail. A group of boys aged from ten to thirteen years discussed with practitioners about things which they were reading. They wanted to write down the wording of the petition, but they thought that they would not be allowed do this and when the practitioners allowed them to read and sign the petition it was posible to read from their faces their joy and content and boyish enthusiasm for a very good thing. When they said goodbye one of them said something like, This has took my breath, It should be banned“.

One man, who came to sign the petition, expressed his interest to know more about the cultivation method and asked whether the practitioners would be willing to teach it to more people and explain it to him. They told him where and when they exercised in Ostrava and that they would, for those interested, teach them everything they needed to know with the greatest pleasure.

Also one young couple from Ostrava, who were touring on bicycles, showed a keen interest in learning the exercises. They received information, signed the petition and said goodbye with a smile .
