On January 8th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Han Yuquan from Qinglong Manchurian Autonomous County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province led 130 to 140 people to voluntarily repair a public road. All the people in the vehicles passing through the road thanked them. However, on January 11th, three days after the road was repaired, Director Liu Yanwen and police officers Wang Haiwei and Shen Jianjun from the Tumeizi Police Station drove to Mr. Han's house. They saw Falun Dafa books in his house and proceeded to ransack it and confiscate the Dafa books. Because Mr. Han was not home, they arrested his wife and took her to the detention centre. After the village officials discussed the situation with police, she was released after five days in the detention centre and a cash fine of over 1,000 yuan1.
