Ms. Wang Bo and her Family Defend Themselves by Explaining the Facts about Falun Dafa
Earlier reports:
After enduring physical and mental torture from the police, Ms. Wang and her parents were very frail, especially her father, Mr. Wang. He needed the assistance of the guards to sit down and stand up in the courtroom. During the trial, Ms. Liu exposed the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) inhuman persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by sharing her family's bitter experiences. She also tried to defend her family members by explaining that Falun Gong practitioners' exposing the persecution activities fall under the category of freedom of belief and speech allowed in the Chinese constitution. It is not a crime for practitioners to tell people the truth. Arresting practitioners and sentencing them to prison or forced labour camps is without legal grounding, and the law enforcement officers are violating the law while they are so-called "enforcing the law." Ms. Wang Bo requested that the court play the "truth-clarification" VCD that the police had confiscated. Mr. Wang Xinzhong demanded that the police return the more than 40,000 yuan1 that they had confiscated while ransacking his home. All three practitioners displayed their firm belief in Falun Gong and resisted the persecution in court. On the evening of July 27th, 2006, police officers climbed over the yard wall of the Wang family's home and arrested Ms. Wang Bo and her mother, each were wearing only undergarments. They arrested Mr. Wang Xinzhong the next morning. Police officers from the Politics and Security Team of the Shijiazhuang City Police Department had been monitoring their house for several days prior to the arrests. The CCP does not treat Falun Gong practitioners on proper legal terms. The trial of Ms. Wang and her parents was just for show. The verdict and sentence terms were predetermined by Chinese Communist officials before the trial. The perpetrators are from various levels of the 610 Office2. The judges and procurators are either tempted or bullied into assisting with the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. In this sense, they are also victims in this cruel persecution.
