Germany: Hoping to Awaken the Conscience of the Chinese Leader

From the 10th to the 12th of November 2005, Chinese leader Hu Jintao was visiting Germany. Falun Gong practitioners from all over Europe came to the German capital Berlin. In six places, they sat quietly around the clock displaying three messages on banners: "Falun Gong is good!" "Stop persecuting Falun Gong" "Hu Jintao, the time Gods and people have given you is limited"

Among the crowds were Falun Gong practitioners from different countries; there were young mothers with their babies, as well as children and elderly people. Everybody was peacefully appealing with a heart of compassion and a mind of kindness.

Under the tyranny of the CCP’s power, large number of Falun Gong practitioners in China have been framed and suppressed for no reason by the authorities. Although their families have been broken up by the persecution, they have nowhere to redress an the injustice. In order to stop the violence happening in China and rescue Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted, practitioners of Europe were calling for an end to the persecution during Hu Jintao's visit.

It was late at night and a piercing wind was blowing. Falun Gong practitioners sat silently.

A policeman who just changed shift came over asking in English: “Who can speak German?”

Two practitioners who could speak German went up. The policeman told them: “It is my duty to look after you, just come to me if you need help. I am in the car at the back..”

At night, the banners around Falun Gong practitioners were very eye-catching.

Some passersby walked over asking with concern why they were sitting here so late at night. Practitioners answered them and gave them leaflets. Upon understanding the truth, they couldn’t help showing their respect for Falun Gong practitioners.

Some people passed by in cars and they parked their cars along the road side making the victory sign.
Others sounded their horns to express their support for Falun Gong practitioners.

A man riding a bike stopped at the road side, first he gave the thumbs up sign, then putting his hand to his heart and lastly bowing his respect to Falun Gong practitioners.

These are only what I saw and heard when I was at one of the places of where practitioners were sitting. “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance” has awakened the justice of the German police and the conscience of the German people and caught the attention of the President of Germany as well.
