On the morning of the 1st of October 2005, Falun Gong practitioners unfurled two very large banners outside the Chinese Consulate in Gothenburg, Sweden. One banner read “Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners” while the other one consisted of photos of Falun Gong practitioners who have been persecuted to death in China. Practitioners also demonstrated the exercises even though the weather was cold and wet.

A few tourists from Mainland China were curious and remarked: “It’s so cold today, what are you doing here?” A practitioner replied: “We are here, peacefully appealing to call a stop to the persecution.”
They said: “China doesn’t mention Falun Gong anymore.” Practitioners answered: “They don’t mention it, but that is a surface phenomenon. In fact the suppression of Falun Gong has not stopped, but has become more concealed. Our peaceful appeal will continue until the end of the persecution. “A couple of tourists also asked about the persecution and were pleased to get a leaflet.
