United Kingdom: Tourists from 27 Countries Sign Petition to Support Quitting CCP

From the 26th to the 30th of June, the International Criminal Law Reform Society’s 19th international conference was held in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. About two hundred lawyers, scholars, legislators and governmental officials from all over the world attended this forum to discuss and share with each other in depth about criminal activities in each country and internationally. Practitioners from London, Leeds and Scotland passed on the call to “Bring the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to Justice” to participants outside The Caledonia Hotel on Princes Street in Edinburgh on 26th, supporting the activity of “Quitting the CCP” that is now endemic in China and all over the world.

In the last few years of activities to expose the persecution against Falun Gong and raise awareness, the peace and rationality of practitioners have won trust and respect from Edinburgh City Council and police. This activity received lots of support from them as usual. Right opposite the guesthouse on the other side of the street, practitioners hung Chinese and English banners, reading, “Bring the CCP to Justice”. Every participant going in and out could clearly see the eye-catching banners through the glass windows in the hall. The corner of the crossing outside the building was full of all kinds of stuck-on posters and pictures to expose the persecution. A petition was written on a cloth 3m long and 2m wide with the words “Support Quitting the CCP”.

People coming to sign the petition in an endless stream and were very enthusiastic. Even on the first afternoon, the 3 metre-long petition cloth was filled with signatures. After signing the petition, many people also wrote down their countries of origin. A check of numbers on the second day showed that they come from twenty seven different countries and regions. Those people of different races, different skin colours, different ages and backgrounds came from: Canada, USA, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Mainland China and Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia, India, South Africa, Cyprus, England, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Holland, France, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Germany, Czech, Poland, Turkey and Nepal.

Two hundred participants came from all over the world, and almost everyone received a copy of “The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” in English. This publication helped them learn about all the terrible things the CCP has don since its formation in move to power in 1949. Practitioners also met some people who were shocked at the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. An Irish lawyer mentioned the case of how Falun Gong and an Irish practitioner were persecuted. Through practitioners determined and courageous efforts, people walking past the street corner all got a chance to understand the great tide of quitting the CCP that is now affecting the whole world.
