On Saturday March 26th, Falun Gong practitioners from Sweden, Finland and Norway gathered at the Chinese Embassy in Sweden to call on China to end the persecution against Falun Gong.

With clear messages on the banners, practitioners sat peacefully on the ground that was covered with ice and snow. They didn't come to the Chinese Embassy to pursue personal interests, but to help more people, including the staff members working in the Embassy, understand the facts of the persecution that the Chinese Communist regime has conducted against Falun Gong. The purpose was to call for an end to the persecution, which has resorted in terrible human rights atrocities including death and torture.

Falun Gong was openly introduced to the general public in May 1992. The number of practitioners grew rapidly to one hundred million within a few years. Through cultivating their hearts according to the principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance”, more and more people obtained healthy minds and bodies. The reintroduction of ethics also brought new opportunities and hope to society.

Driven by a strong passion for power and jealousy, Chinese leader Jiang Zemin started a full-scale persecution against Falun Gong on July 20th 1999. To fabricate excuses for this illegal persecution, Jiang and the Chinese Communist Party manipulated the Chinese media to mislead public opinion and frame up Falun Gong. Disguised by lies, the relentless torture and bloody murder against Falun Gong practitioners has lasted for more than five years throughout the entire country.

However, lies cannot prevail over truth for long. Through Falun Gong practitioners' perseverance in telling people the facts about the persecution, these lies were exposed one after another. People started to think more deeply about things after seeing the truth, especially those from western democratic countries. After realising that Jiang had manipulated China’s propaganda machine to persecute innocent citizens, they all condemned Jiang's regime and pledged support for Falun Gong practitioners.

Through interactions with practitioners, people have come to understand the truth about Falun Gong and have a better idea about the evil nature of Jiang's regime. Nowadays, Falun Gong is deeply rooted in the hearts of one hundred million people of different race and colour in more than sixty countries.
