When the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visited Germany, German Falun Gong practitioners announced in an open letter to him that, 'At the time of your visit we would like to give you a gift on behalf of the Chinese people. These are a few words from a German policeman: “Falun Gong’s demonstration is just like a peaceful island in troubled times."' They also appealed to stop the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

On May the 2nd, Dafa practitioners handed over both German and Chinese translations of this open letter to the Chinese Embassy in Germany, and asked them to pass on it to Wen Jiabao who is visiting there. A German desk clerk received this letter. In the meantime, the letter was read aloud at the appeal activities held in the afternoon.
