On the 16th of March, the Geneva University Falun Gong Association held a large “Falun Gong and Human Rights” photo exhibition in Geneva University. At lunchtime, Falun Gong practitioners performed a short play in the centre of the hall with students from Geneva University. The drama touched the hearts of the university students deeply.

In short, simple sketches, the drama vividly illustrated the spread of Falun Dafa in China by word of mouth amongst people from different levels of society and different occupations, right through until the crackdown and brutal persecution of innocent Dafa practitioners. The drama began with a practitioner doing the exercises alone in a park. Soon, a young man dressed as a worker passed by. He saw the practitioner doing the exercises with a little flag in front of her with the words “Truth, Compassion, Forbearance” written on it. He started to learn the exercises. Shortly afterwards, people dressed up as housewives, young students and the elderly also joined in. A passerby brought out a camera to take pictures of everyone exercising. Suddenly, there was a whistle, followed by heart-rending music. From behind the stage, several “policemen” wielding batons rushed out. They violently snatched away the camera from the passerby and stamped on it. A few policemen began to beat the practitioners using batons and even their fists and feet. The practitioners tolerated this silently without retaliating. A moment later, the batons of the policemen suddenly stopped in the air, two men with a sense of justice rushed in and shouted, “Stop!” in a firm voice.

The drama was performed during the lunch break and attracted many students. They applauded enthusiastically and displayed expressions of deep thought on their faces. After the performance, the host of the play told everyone that this play is a truthful depiction of the situation of Falun Dafa in China. A practitioner from Ireland, Zhao Ming detailed his experience of being brutally persecuted in China. He pointed to the photographs behind him and explained that they were practitioners who hae been tortured to death, and four of them were his friends. They lost their lives because they persisted in believing “Truth, Compassion and Forbearance”. Australian citizen Ms Dai Zhizhen spoke of how her whole family had benefited from practising Falun Dafa but her husband was persecuted to death for saying what he truly felt: “Falun Dafa is good”. Swedish citizen Pirjo told everyone how the persecution of Falun Gong has spread overseas. She spoke of going with her husband to Thailand for some time because he had business there. However because she practised Falun Gong, the Thai government did not allow her to stay in Thailand due to tremendous pressure from China.

Finally, practitioners who performed in the drama demonstrated the movements of the five Falun Gong exercises.
