The opening ceremony of the annual Chinese Industry and Commerce Exhibition was held in East Los Angeles on January 17, 2004. The two-day exhibition attracted over 100,000 people to enjoy performances and taste delicious foods.

Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated the 5 sets of Falun Gong exercises in front of a booth in the exhibition hall, distributed truth-clarification materials, and promoted Dafa books.

An older gentleman viewed the exercise demonstration and said, "Such a graceful meditation practice is being brutally persecuted in China?!" He expressed approval of the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin for initiating and carrying out the persecution against Falun Gong.
