Latvia: Peaceful Appeal at The Chinese Embassy in Riga

On Christmas evening 2003, Liu Chengjun, a Falun Gong practitioner who was brutally tortured in a labour camp, died at the Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital in the Chinese city of Changchun. Liu’s name was on Amnesty International's Urgent Rescue list.

Dafa practitioners from several cities in Latvia gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy in Riga to peacefully appeal and call upon society to severely punish the wicked people who persecute Falun Gong practitioners. During the activity, those who live near the Chinese Embassy expressed their sincere interest in understanding the persecution in China. People asked, “How can this illegal persecution be stopped?” After they heard the facts, many people said that they would like to learn the Falun Gong exercises. During the activity, Latvian practitioners gave the on-duty policemen a statement issued by the Baltic Falun Dafa Association and thanked them for providing support.
