Wudang Court Hands Illegal Sentences To Practitioners Who Participated in Broadcasting Falun Gong Programmes on TV The Guiyang "610 Office,"* together with the police department, and local court and prosecutor, have intensified their persecution against Falun Gong. The police have adopted methods of tracking and abducting Falun Gong practitioners, detaining them in the Guiyang Detention Centre, and torturing them physically and mentally. Since this spring they have illegally sentenced Falun Gong practitioners multiple times without the presence of a jury, a defence lawyer, or practitioners' family members. On August 22, 2003, the Guiyang Wudang Court again came up with some unjust excuse to prosecute practitioners. This time, in the name of supposedly "damaging broadcasting and TV installations," they illegally sentenced Falun Gong practitioners Mo Daiqiong was sentenced to 16 years in jail, Wang Shangchun to 14 years, Yu Hongbing to 13 years, Wang Guoyu to 12 years, Pan Qihua to 10 years, Hu Dali to 10 years, Wen Ronghua to 10 years, Du Guining to 8 years, Cao Jun to 8 years, Zhen Gang to 8 years, and Yuan Xingkui to 3 years. In court, Falun Gong practitioners were full of a noble spirit. They spoke righteously and sternly to deny the evil trial. The lawless trial ended hastily. People who participated in the illegal trial: Presiding Judge: Xu Shenying *"610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
