On the 17th of August, UK Falun Gong practitioners were invited to Brighton, a well-known tourist spot, to take part in the Brighton Art Festival. It was the peak of the holiday season and the town was full of people.

The Art Festival was held in a square close to the sea front. By noon, nearly one thousand people were on the square. Parents took their kids to enjoy the sunshine on the lawn and wait for the performance to begin.

Around 3:30 in the afternoon, it was time for the Dafa practitioners’ performance. The practitioners first hung two banners on the stage. One read “The World needs Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance” and the other read “Falun Dafa is Good”. After a brief introduction by a western practitioner, the practitioners began their first performance, which was a traditional Chinese Fan Dance. Later, they demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises on the stage while a western practitioner introduced Falun Gong and told people about the persecution in China and the lawsuit that has been filed against Jiang Zemin in the United States Federal Court. The practitioners ended the performance with another Fan Dance to the music of “Falun Dafa is Good”.

Throughout the afternoon, nearly a thousand people watched the practitioners’ performance. As the practitioners handed out leaflets, many people asked where they can learn the exercises.

Two days after the Art Festival, the organiser congratulated the practitioners on their performance. In the meantime, the practitioners were invited to take part in another Art Festival. No doubt this is another great opportunity to let more people know about Falun Dafa, the practice based on Truthfulness, Kindness and Tolerance, and the brutal persecution of practitioners in China.
