Croatia: Human Rights Official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Encourages Practitioners to Appeal for Human Rights

In April 2003, Zhang Cuiying, a Falun Gong practitioner and well-known Chinese artist , successfully exhibited her paintings and attended a press conference in Zagreb, Croatia’s capital city. After the exhibition, the artist, together with local Falun Gong practitioners, visited the Chief of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and presented the official there with one of her paintings.

Cuiying told the official how she was imprisoned in China for eight months suffering various forms of brutal torture, simply because she practises Falun Gong, and how she finally regained her freedom with help from the Australian Government.

This human rights official listened attentively to Zhang Cuiying, and encouraged her to continue using her painting exhibitions to help people learn the true facts about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and Jiang Zemin’s huge violations of human rights. The practitioners also presented detailed information about the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, on the charges of genocide, to the official at the Foreign Ministry.
