Recently, practitioners held an exhibition of Zhang Cuiying’s paintings in the Hungary’s capital city of Budapest. Practitioners from Hungary, Austria, Sweden and Australia assisted with the exhibition. Many people attended the opening ceremony, which included a speech by Mrs. Zhang, Cuiying, a short demonstration of the Falun Gong exercises, a live music performance and the presentation of a painting by Zhang Cuiying to the gallery owner.

People who attended the exhibition were deeply touched by Cuiying’s paintings and her personal story of suffering in Chinese jails for 8 months because of her practice of Falun Gong. Visitors to the exhibition sat down and keenly watched the Falun Dafa videos that exposed the facts of the persecution. One gentleman commented, “I can feel the energy in the paintings...normally when I see other artwork it looks beautiful, but lacks deeper meaning”. Others stayed at the gallery and talked to practitioners for hours, reluctant to leave. Because of this, the first exhibition closed almost two hours later than planned. However, the gallery owner did not mind, saying that the “gallery is always open”.

A Hungarian television crew were also at the exhibition. They were deeply moved by Cuiying’s artwork. Initially, they weren’t too keen about reporting on the opening of the exhibition because it fell on a public holiday. However, after hearing Cuiying’s story, and seeing the kindness of the practitioners, they became very calm and happy. They each received copies of Cuiying’s paintings, with personally written messages from the artist in Chinese. Even the cameraman thanked the practitioners from the bottom of his heart.

The Austrian practitioners, who performed a musical piece, made the exhibition’s atmosphere seem very peaceful. The television crew even requested for them to continue playing, as they interviewed Zhang Cuiying.

This event gave practitioners an opportunity to work together as “one body”. It required that all practitioners make a joint effort and be open to other’s opinions and advice. The key to the exhibition’s success was the Ren [Forbearance, Tolerance] of each practitioner.
