Swedish MP: “I will urge the Swedish Government to Condemn the Violations of Human Rights in China” Here is a letter that a Swedish practitioner received after contacting their MP: March 13 2003 Dear...., You have contacted [another MP] and myself regarding the criminal behaviour of China on the issue of human rights. Yesterday, I went with a couple of Members of Parliament to the Chinese Consulate and raised quite a few criticising questions on the issue of China’s human rights. The answers given by the Consulate were not satisfactory. Next week, I will meet with the Swedish Human Rights Committee, which is accredited by the United Nations in Geneva. I will bring up the issue of China and urge the Swedish government to condemn the violation of human rights in China. I suggest that you write a letter directly to the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations accredited in Geneva, and to our Minister of Foreign Affairs. Your direct involvement as an individual is of great importance. Yours sincerely, Member of Swedish Parliament
