During the Chinese Lunar New Year, Dutch Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in a Chinese New Year party presented by the Dutch/Chinese immigration organisation. The performances included songs, pieces played on the Erhu [traditional Chinese instrument] and the accordion, and demonstrations of calligraphy and other traditional Chinese art.

The five sets of exercises that Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated received the highest praise from both the sponsor and the guests, and were judged the best performance. The sponsor gladly told the practitioners, “Your performance was really attractive! Next time, if we have similar opportunities, we will certainly invite you to join us again.” The Sponsor also invited practitioners to introduce Falun Dafa in Dutch to all the guests. Some guests asked for Dafa materials and expressed their willingness to learn the exercises. The musicians also played songs composed by Dafa practitioners for the duration of the party.

Practitioners gave out leaflets and Video-CDs to every guest. One Chinese person who had been engaged in human rights work in the past, said from his heart, “I experienced a lot in my life. I have been in jail several times. And I have not wept like this for a long time. During the human rights conference in Geneva last year, when I saw so many Falun Gong practitioners sitting in meditation, I could not hold back my tears. What I really want to say is, ‘Falun Dafa is good!’” He wrote a special poem for the practitioners on the spot, and dedicated some other written work to the practitioners as a mark of respect for Falun Gong.
