Sweden: People Support our Efforts against Article 23 On the 21st December, Swedish practitioners held a peaceful appeal against the anti-subversion law, Article 23, in Myntorget in Stockholm. The activities included petition signing and revealing the truth about Article 23. Practitioners also demonstrated the five sets of exercises and sent forth righteous thoughts [using powerful upright thoughts to purify oneself and the surrounding environment]
The purpose of holding the activities was to inform people of the damage the legislation would bring to Hong Kong; groups banned in mainland China, under the guise of National Security could also be banned in Hong Kong. What is most worrying is that under this new legislation, the definitions of National Security, secession and subversion lay completely with the Jiang regime in Beijing. This gives mainland China complete control over the security forces in Hong Kong and is a direct attack on freedom.
Many people were out doing their Christmas shopping and were concerned when they saw a banner reading Article 23 in Hong Kong is a threat to human rights. They signed the petition against Article 23 hoping that the society of Hong Kong can remain free and not be destroyed by Jiang Zemin's attempts to eliminate human rights and civil liberties. If you would like to speak out for the freedom of people in Hong Kong, please sign the online petition against Article 23 at www.againstarticle23.org/en.
