Poem: "Anew"

Inspired by the righteous actions of fellow practitioners in Chicago and Texas in October 2002

Far from where one began
and the road is rocky, winding;
Little voice inside so still
wonder if it is alive.

One small step off of the path
what lies that way so blinding;
Beyond edges of temperate calm
truth is obscured by falsehood.

No stopping in the midst of trials
to observe with complaint;
Eyes open wide to the falls
taken while lost and crying.

Turn around from nothingness
to see the way back home;
Dedicate to the very last breath
a heart conceived in righteousness.

In one brief moment there is light
that guides to a place of compassion;
Solid as the mountain stands
the time has come to start anew.
