Chairman of a Prominent UK Law Society Expresses Concern Over Article 23 The Chairman of a prominent law society in the UK has written to Falun Gong practitioners on 15 November in response to a letter drawing to his attention the deeply worrying development in Article-23 legislation in Hong Kong. He said "Thank you very much for your letter of 13th November. I am personally entirely in accord with your views." He indicated that he will raise the Hong Kong Article 23 issue at a main committee meeting and he would also be prepared to personally express his concern to the HK authority. The widely opposed Article-23 legislation has caused deep concerns within the UK. Several MPs and Lords have raised the issue with UK and HK authorities and the UK government has urged the HK authority at various occasions to protect human rights and freedoms which must not be jeopardised by any legislation.
