Hong Kong Practitioner Mr. Suen Chung-man Faces Trial in China; Family Calls for Rescue Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners
Suen Chung-man is 46 years old, a permanent resident of Hong Kong and a businessman who started practicing Falun Dafa in November, 1998. He lived with his wife and daughter before he was arrested. On May 17, 2002, he went to Shenzhen through Luohu station. It was alleged that when he passed through customs, the police discovered 40 Falun Gong truth-clarifying VCDs [Video Cdrom’s] in his possession. The customs confiscated the VCDs and police from the National Public Security Bureau arrested Suen. After 4 months of living under surveillance in the Public Security Bureau, the Shenzhen Municipal Police Station officially arrested Mr. Suen on September 23 and held him in the detention center of the Longgang district police station. Mr. Suen’s wife, Wong Am said that Suen would be tried on November 22, in the Longgang district court in Shenzhen City. It has been reported that a seven-year term in jail has already been decided internally. Mr. Suen’s family members all expressed their indignation towards the unreasonable sentence. They noted that Mr. Suen is an honest and kind person who never argues with others, and that after he practiced Falun Gong, his family became harmonious and his moral character became even stronger. Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners pointed out that Mr. Suen carried those VCDs simply hoping to clarify the facts about Falun Gong and to expose the Jiang regime’s illegal persecution and its deceitful lies to the Chinese people. This was an action of justice and the Chinese authorities should not imprison Mr. Suen. Hong Kong practitioners hope that the related departments will not follow Jiang’s evil orders, but immediately release Mr. Suen. Several Hong Kong and international media conducted interviews and reported on this incident. Phone numbers of related departments in China: The Longgang district detention center in Shenzhen City: (86) 755-2893-0166, ext.: 111 or 222.
