Persecution against European Residents Part 3 (Chinese Nationals in Germany) Country: Germany After Mr. Yibing Shis passport had expired, the Chinese consulate in Hamburg at first accepted his application for a new passport. They later refused to issue the new one without explanation. When Mr. Yibing Shis attorney inquired regarding the refusal, he also received no explanation. Country: Germany Mr. Gang Chen, a student at the Technical University/Munich applied for a new passport in May 2002, because the visa pages in his old passport ran out. The authorities at the Chinese consulate in Munich refused to issue a new passport for him because he is a Falun Gong practitioner. Country: Germany Mr. Hongxia Wu came to Germany in 1997, and had worked in a Chinese restaurant in the City of Freiburg. When his work permit had expired in November 2001, he went back to China and was arrested in August of 2002 in Hengyiang. He has been fired from his job and his bank accounts are frozen. Presently he is in the Huangjiawan Forced Labour Camp in Hengyiang City. He has been threatened with three years of incarceration if he refuses to sign the three Repentance Statements. According to information from his family, his situation is very grim.
