Even from far away, Falun Gong practitioners in their yellow or white outfits were easy to spot! The practitioners had gathered at the city hall in Frankfurt, at the spacious Roemerberg. Practitioners could be seen actively clarifying the truth at their information booth, placards, photo sandwich boards etc. The information on display gave details of practitioners who had lost their lives due to torture in China. The messages on the display boards, written in Chinese and German, coincided with this year’s theme for World Peace Day and read,” To achieve World Peace, the world needs Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.” This comment was the lead-in for many a conversation between passers-by and practitioners. Our flyers echoed the message.

Rarely did a person, whether local or visitor, walk by without at least casting an interested glance at the group. Many of whom were glad to accept a flyer that explained the situation [in China] in detail. The familiar whispers of “Falun Dafa,” were especially audible from Korean and Chinese tour groups, and only a few among them refused to accept a flyer; on the contrary, a Korean tour guide asked for additional copies of informational materials in the Korean language, which we happened to have on hand. This female tour guide held the materials up high, for her whole group to see.

Although this World Peace Day fell on a weekday, nonetheless, 25 practitioners had assembled to demonstrate the exercises in front of the offices of the Lord Mayor (city hall) of Frankfurt, located at historic the Roemerberg, and to inform him of Jiang Zemin’s criminal conduct toward Falun Gong practitioners in China.
