After the incident of Hong Kong’s unreasonable prosecution and trial against Falun Gong practitioners happened, in addition to the round-the-clock peaceful petition held outside Chinese Embassy in UK (started some sixty days ago), the practitioners from London and Manchester also launched peaceful petitions in front of UK’s Foreign Ministry and Chinese Consulate in Manchester respectively.

In London, the passers-by at Chinese Embassy in UK asked for materials in droves. They also signed their names to support Falun Gong practitioners. Some of them even practiced sitting meditation along practitioners. The person responsible for the management of parking mentioned to practitioners: “Well done! Your banners are beautiful too.” A woman passing there told the practitioners that she felt powerful energy when Dafa practitioners were sending forth righteous thoughts. The policeman on duty at the Embassy said you won the respect here because of your good cooperation with us.
Due to the special relationship between UK and Hong Kong, the staff of UK Foreign Ministry was very much concerned about the unreasonable trial against Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong. They asked for Falun Gong materials one after another. One day, a Caucasian walked out of the Foreign Ministry talked to Dafa practitioners after he asked for Falun Gong materials. He said that he had served as Hong Kong policeman for six years, and that the police was completely independent and responsible only to laws during that period of time. Whatever people did would not be interfered by the police as long as they did not break laws. He was worried about Hong Kong’s situation, and empathized with the 16 Falun Gong practitioners’ situation. The UK policeman on duty around the Foreign Ministry came to the scene and said: “You’ve done a very good job, your petition has attracted the public’s attention.” One day, some people walked out of the building of the Ministry of Finance (opposite to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) after work. Seeing practitioners practicing the exercises, they mimicked Dafa practitioners to practice the exercises in the place not far away from the practitioners.

On August 5, Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., Manchester Dafa practitioners gathered at Chinese Consulate in Manchester and held a news conference to call for people from all walks of life to concern about the on-going unreasonable accusation against Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong on charges of the so-called“blocking street.”A practitioner, taking four hours, purposely came a long way from another city to provide his hand-made banner condemning Hong Kong Government’s unreasonable prosecution and trial against Falun Gong practitioners.
