In your letter of March 26th, you wanted to bring the attention of Ms. Dominique BERTINOTTI, Mayor of the 4th district, to the repression of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

I would remind you that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in his letter of July 6, 2000, confirmed to you the position of both France and the European Union in regards to this important issue, and I can and confirm to you the commitment of the Mayor of Paris on the side of all those worldwide who put effort in favour of the respect of Human Rights.
